• Please be aware that the mod_ssl module in this tar.bz2 file does have the following prerequisites:
• OpenSSL (from the Crytographic Content of the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  

• Please be aware that the PHP module in this tar.bz2 file does have the following prerequisites:

  • a newer version of libxml2 (you can find it on my personal AIX open source repository. The direct link is here.)

  • bzip2 (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  • expat (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  • freetype2 (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  • libpng (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  • libjpeg (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)
  • Xpm (from the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications)

• Remarks:
• The default location for apache is /opt/freeware/apache2.
• These RPMs are compiled with the IBM XL C/C++ compiler so no dependencies on GCC exist.
• Please do not forget to adapt the config file /opt/freeware/apache2/conf/httpd.conf to your specific needs.
• Here is my working httpd.conf file which incorporates also the PHP module (please note that the .tar.bz2 file above contains already this file).
• My httpd.conf file at the end references an extra/httpd-php.conf file which contains all necessary PHP adaptations for Apache. You can download this file here (please note that the .tar.bz2 file above contains already this file).
  
• There is also a PHP initialization file php.ini contained which has to be adapted to your specific needs, especially the date.timezone stanza (please note that the .tar.bz2 file above contains already this file).
• To (un)pack the .tar.bz2 package above you will need the bunzip2 program which is part of the bzip2 RPM package (contained in the AIX Toolbox for Linux Applications CD).
